With the aid of generous grants from the Welsh Assembly Government, PAVO and the Wales Co-operative Group, as well as a large amount of time and effort by volunteers, a number of improvements have been made to the Newtown office.
The exterior has been re-painted, new bilingual signs have been installed, and a new front door has been fitted. Inside, on the ground floor, a new counter has been constructed with a frame to support a security screen (one of several measures introduced to address concerns raised following a recent health and safety audit).
The middle floor has been partitioned into two office zones, and filing cabinets have been replaced with cupboards, to make better use of space.
The first stage of the work (funded by WAG and PAVO) is essentially complete, but further work is still in progress.
